Mechanism and compartment are one option

On the bed’s product page this is a single item — “Lift-up mechanism + storage compartment”. The compartment cannot be ordered separately, and this is not cost-cutting on the list: the box under the bed exists precisely because the base rises. Without the mechanism there is no way to reach it.

The base under the mattress is slats. They remain slats with the mechanism too: the whole frame rises together with the mattress, not a separate lid.

The type of struts is not stated on the product page for every model. Where it is: Zarura has gas-oil struts, Mode 3.0 has gas lifts. For the other models, this is a question for our manager; we will not invent things on behalf of production here.

How much the option costs

The price depends on the width of the sleeping area and is added to the price of the bed:

up to 100 cm — ₴3,320. Single and teen sizes.

up to 140 cm — ₴4,490. Small doubles.

up to 180 cm — ₴5,900. Doubles 160 × 200 and 180 × 200 — the most common choice.

up to 200 cm — ₴6,900. Wide 200 × 200.

There is no need to calculate separately: tick the option on the bed’s product page, and the price is recalculated together with the chosen fabric and size. What you see in the calculator is the total.

When it pays off, and when it stands empty

Honestly, because the option is not cheap.

It pays off when there really is nowhere to store seasonal items: one wardrobe per room, overhead storage packed full, and duvets and pillows living in bags. The compartment under the bed is the area of the bed itself — roughly two square metres that cannot be found anywhere else in the room.

It pays off when the bed stands in a room where every metre counts anyway: in a 9–10 m² bedroom, a chest of drawers instead of the compartment would take up the walkway.

It stands empty when the room already has a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. Then the compartment becomes a place you look into once a year.

It is inconvenient if the bed is made up with a heavy bedspread and a pile of cushions: to lift the base, you will have to remove all of that every time. This is not a flaw of the mechanism, it is everyday life — but it is better to think about it before ordering, not after.

What to consider before ordering

The space above the bed must be clear. The base lifts up and towards you — a shelf above the headboard, the sloping roof of an attic or a low-hanging light may simply stop it from opening. Measure more than just the floor.

A bed with the mechanism is heavier. This matters not for everyday use but for carrying it upstairs — tell our manager the floor and whether there is a lift when arranging delivery.
