How contract furniture differs from retail

A sofa in a flat is sat on a few times a day. A sofa in a café, several dozen. This is not a question of “better or worse quality”; these are different requirements for the construction and the fabric.

Load. In a commercial space, furniture wears out many times faster. That is why in contract projects we choose fabrics with suitable abrasion resistance ratings and check the construction against the expected load.

Repeatability. The most common problem people bring to us after other contractors: a year later they need five more chairs for the same room, but the model has been discontinued or the fabric is no longer available. We are a factory and we record the project specification, so the batch can be repeated.

Dimensions to fit the space. In a venue, every centimetre counts: seating density directly affects revenue. That is why we most often make banquettes, sofas and daybeds for commercial projects not from the catalogue but to the specific dimensions of the room.

Lead times per batch. A batch for a project is calculated separately and depends on the volume: we give an exact lead time after receiving the brief.

What we make

Beds and mattresses, bedside tables, wardrobes, sofas, armchairs, chairs and bar stools, poufs, banquettes, daybeds, tables and side tables.

For most items, the dimensions, seat height and configuration can be changed for the project. Every change goes through the technologist — not all adjustments are compatible with the strength of the construction, and we will tell you so before, not after.

How we work

1. Your brief or our site visit. A floor plan and the number of items are enough. If there is an interior design project, we work from it.

2. Specification and quote. You receive a list of items with dimensions, fabrics and prices. At this stage the configuration can still be changed.

3. Fabric samples. We send or bring them — fabric for a commercial project is not chosen from a photo on a screen.

4. Production and delivery. In batches or in a single delivery, to fit your installation schedule.

5. We keep the specification. A year or three later you can order more items with the same characteristics.

You see the piece before you order the batch

If a model is being developed for your venue, we make the first unit separately and hand it over for you to evaluate — after full payment for that particular model. You judge the seating, height, firmness and fabric in the real light of your own room, not in a photo.

If something needs changing, we change it before the batch goes into production, not after.

For a venue, this removes the main risk of contract purchasing: forty chairs that looked right in the photo but did not suit the room.

There is no minimum order

We take on both fitting out a whole project and ten chairs for a small coffee shop. For a venue that is just opening, this matters: you do not have to order a batch “just in case” to meet a manufacturer’s terms.

Fabric documentation

Every fabric comes with technical documentation from its manufacturer — we provide it on request together with the commercial proposal.

The documents include ones related to fire safety. For hotels and restaurants this can be a requirement for handing over the premises, so tell the manager in advance — we will choose a fabric that has such documents at the specification stage.

Lead times for a batch

The shortest lead time is 7 days. Beyond that, everything depends on the complexity of the piece and the size of the batch: the manager gives you a guide to lead times right after receiving your brief and finds options to meet your opening date.

24-month warranty on all pieces of our own production.

Terms for companies

We work under contract with bank transfer payment. There are two tax options — with VAT and without — so you choose whichever suits your accounts department.

Volume discounts are calculated individually. There is deliberately no fixed scale: a batch of twenty identical chairs and a batch of twenty different pieces have different production costs, and reducing them to one percentage would be unfair. The manager calculates for the specific brief. For the same reason there is no minimum order.

The manager prepares a commercial proposal with a list of items, dimensions, fabrics and prices — at this stage the configuration can still be changed.

For designers and architects

We work with design studios and architects on projects: we make pieces to their drawings and stay in touch with the project team at every stage.

Partners have a cumulative bonus scheme. Rewards are credited to the balance in your personal account, where you can see statistics for your projects, and payout is made once the project is completed — you submit the request in the same account.

The size of the reward depends on the partnership tier and the volume of work together — the manager will explain the details and find terms that suit the way you work.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order?
There is no minimum order — terms are discussed individually for each project.
How long does a batch for a project take?
It depends on the volume and complexity. We calculate a batch for a project separately after receiving the brief. If you have an opening date, tell us straight away — we plan production around it.
Can a batch be repeated a year later?
Yes. We record the project specification: models, dimensions, fabrics. This is what buying from retail shops cannot give you, where the range changes every season.
Do you work from an interior design project?
Yes, we make pieces to the drawings of a designer or architect. The technologist checks the construction and lets you know if any solution needs adjusting.
Can I order non-standard dimensions?
Yes, for commercial projects this is the rule rather than the exception. Banquettes and sofas made to the dimensions of the room are a typical job.
