29 models for children and teenagers — from compact 80 × 160 cm beds for little ones to 200 × 200 cm for older children. Upholstered headboards in a fabric of your choice, made to fit the mattress size you need.
Size: plan for growth
The main mistake when buying a kids’ bed is choosing it for the child’s current height. Children grow fast, and a bed bought “just right” becomes too small within two years.
The rule of thumb is simple: the length of the bed minus the child’s height should leave at least 20–25 cm to spare. A 120 cm child will sleep comfortably in a bed 160 cm long, but in a couple of years will need 190.
A more practical approach is to buy a bed to grow into straight away. A 90 × 190 or 90 × 200 size suits a child from pre-school age to adulthood. It costs more at the start, but less than replacing the bed twice.
For teenagers it makes sense to look at adult sizes: in our catalogue kids’ beds are available up to 200 × 200 cm, and a teenager will happily sleep on 140 × 200 or 160 × 200 for many years.
What matters in a kids’ bed
An upholstered headboard. Children read, play and watch cartoons in bed — that is, they sit leaning back. A soft surface is more comfortable and safer for this than a hard one: an accidental knock of the head during play will not end in a bruise.
Rounded shapes. There should be as few sharp corners in a child’s room as possible — this applies to the bed and to everything else in the room.
A fabric you can clean. In a child’s room everything ends up on the furniture: felt-tip pens, juice, modelling clay. All our fabrics are hypoallergenic, and the collections include water-repellent ones — with a treatment that makes stains much easier to remove. Tell our manager the child’s age and we will send samples of exactly those.
Mattress
Beds are made to fit the mattress size you need, but the mattress itself is ordered separately.
Before buying, always check the actual inside dimensions of the sleeping area of the chosen model — they may differ from the nominal size. For a kids’ bed this is especially important: a gap between the mattress and the side where a hand or foot could get stuck is unacceptable.
Production and delivery
Custom sizes are agreed separately with our production engineer.
Before ordering, check the width of the child’s room door, the turn in the hallway and the lift dimensions.
Frequently asked questions
- What bed size should I choose for a child?
- Leave room to grow: the length of the bed minus the child’s height should leave at least 20–25 cm. It is more practical to take 90 × 190 or 90 × 200 straight away — this size lasts from pre-school age to adulthood, and you will not have to replace the bed twice.
- Will a kids’ bed suit a teenager?
- Yes. The catalogue has sizes up to 200 × 200 cm, so a teenager will happily sleep on 140 × 200 or 160 × 200 for many years.
- Which fabric should I choose for a child’s room?
- The main criterion is how easily stains come out, not the look. Properties vary from collection to collection within the same category, so tell our manager the child’s age and get a selection with samples.
- Is the mattress included in the price?
- No, it is ordered separately. Always check the actual inside dimensions of the sleeping area: there should be no gap between the mattress and the side of a kids’ bed.
- Can I order a non-standard size?
- Yes, we make everything in our own factory. Every change is agreed with our production engineer, and the lead time is longer than standard.
