A width of 80 cm is the format for a child from three years old. Compact, it leaves room to play in the room, and it is in this size that there are models with a safety rail.
When 80 cm is the right choice
This is a bed for roughly ages 3–6: the child has outgrown a cot with bars but has not yet grown into a teenager.
Length matters more than width. This size comes in three lengths — 160, 190 and 200 cm. The 80 × 160 option suits a pre-schooler, but it will not last long. If you do not want to change the bed in two years, take 190 or 200 cm straight away: the price difference is smaller than the cost of a second purchase.
But there is no point buying 80 cm width to grow into. It will become too narrow while the length is still enough — that is the trap of this format.
Safety rail: not for everyone and not for ever
Falls from bed happen not in the middle of the night but on the edge of sleep: the child wakes up, is not yet oriented and crawls the wrong way.
So the safety rail should not run the full length but only part of it — enough to stop the movement while still letting the child climb down on their own.
Whether there is a safety rail is stated in the specifications of each model as a separate line. If the model you need does not have one, tell our manager — this is resolved at the ordering stage.
What the headboard is made of
The headboard is sewn using the same technology as our sofas, from the same materials.
The filling is durable polyurethane foam of varying density. We do not use spring units in upholstered furniture: in a piece you lean your back against every day, they are the first to give way. Polyurethane foam of varying density holds its shape for years and does not sag.
The fabrics are all hypoallergenic. Some collections have additional properties: anti-scratch with a dense weave that stands up better to claws, and water-repellent with a treatment that makes stains easier to remove. For a bedroom with pets or a child’s room, this makes all the difference.

- From what age is an 80 cm bed suitable?
- From about three years old. Before that, children usually use a cot with bars.
- Which length should I take — 160, 190 or 200?
- The rule: length minus the child’s height should leave at least 20 cm. The 160 cm size suits a pre-schooler, but 190–200 cm will last until the teenage years.
- Can I order a bed with a safety rail if the model does not have one?
- This is a question for our manager about the specific model — the construction does not always allow it.
- Is a mattress included?
- No, the mattress is bought separately to fit the inner size of the sleeping area.
