In a café, a guest sits for less time than in a restaurant, and seat turnover is higher. That changes what to look at when choosing.
Compactness matters more than seat depth
In a restaurant a guest sits for two hours, in a café for forty minutes. So a deep seat is not needed here, but every extra centimetre of width is multiplied by the number of seats.
The narrowest models are Dali (48 cm) and Taco (50 cm). They give the most seats for the same floor area.
Pourvie has the smallest depth — 51 cm. This matters not at the table but between customers: a chair pushed under the table sticks out less, and the walkway stays clear. In a tight room the difference is felt every day.
Wear in a café is different from a restaurant
Chairs are moved more often. Seat turnover is higher, so the legs and fixings take more load than the upholstery.
More gets spilled. Coffee on a light fabric is an event for the whole service life unless there is a treatment.
Chairs by the shop window fade. This is the most common reason why, after a year, one side of the room looks different. Tell our manager that some chairs will stand in the sun — resistance to fading varies between collections.
Visual lightness
In a small room, it is not only capacity that matters but also how “heavy” the furniture looks.
A low backrest does not block the view or divide the room. Louis (74 cm), Mone (81 cm) and Sea (80 cm) make the room look more spacious.
Metal legs (gold-coloured on Sea) raise the chair above the floor: you can see the floor, the room seems larger, and cleaning under them is easier. The other models are on ash legs.
Frequently asked questions
- Which models are the most compact?
- Dali — 48 cm wide, Taco — 50 cm. Pourvie has the smallest depth, 51 cm, so it sticks out less from under the table.
- What about fabric by the shop window?
- Tell our manager which seats are in the sun. Resistance to fading varies between collections, and people only notice it after a year.
- How many spares should I take?
- 5–10% over what you need. Chairs in a venue fail one at a time, and the fabric collection may change over time.
- Do you make chairs for bar counter height?
- We change the dimensions to order — the technologist looks at the specific design.
