Basket-weave fabric is available on all eight models. It is the most practical choice for a chair you eat at every day.
Why basket-weave for dining chairs
A dense weave is the main criterion of durability. The more tightly the threads are interwoven, the less the fabric absorbs and the more slowly it wears at contact points. In basket-weave fabric this is built into the structure itself.
The texture hides small marks. This is not about disguising dirt, but about an even, textured surface not showing every stain the way a smooth one does.
It does not show marks from touch. Unlike velour, basket-weave fabric looks the same regardless of the angle of light and whether a hand has been run over it.
What you should know
The texture is rougher to the touch than velour or velvet. It is a practical material rather than a tactile one.
Claws catch on the weave. If you have a cat, ask our manager about anti-scratch options: in dense collections this is solved by the structure of the thread.
A treatment is still needed. Density slows down absorption but does not prevent it: on dining chairs the protective layer works for you every day.
Where it works best
Kitchen and everyday dining room — the main scenario. This is where the durability advantage counts most.
Families with children — basket-weave fabric puts up with more than smooth and pile fabrics, and gets back to looking good more easily after cleaning.
A venue — a workable option, but check the abrasion resistance of the specific collection with our manager: the name of the material guarantees nothing by itself.
