The pouf is the most underrated item in a room: small, inexpensive, and yet it does four different jobs. But that's exactly why people buy the wrong one: in photos all poufs look the same, but they work differently.
Let's go by purpose, and in every case what decides it isn't the diameter but the height.

A footrest: 35–45 cm
The most common job and the simplest rule: the pouf should be level with the sofa seat or slightly lower.
If the sofa seat is 42 cm and the pouf is 50, your legs are raised above your hips, and within half an hour it tires you instead of relaxing you.
In this format we have: Candy and Crystal (35 cm), Bosco (40), Estie (42), SIMPLE (40), Cubic and Deshi (45), MIND-S (40).
The lightest is CRYSTAL, 3 kg. That matters where furniture is moved often: to clear space for playing with the children or for an exercise mat. Barrely, Bosco and Deshi weigh 4 kg each.
An extra seat: 50–60 cm
Fifty centimetres is the threshold beyond which you can sit on a pouf for half an evening without thinking about it. On a smaller one you sit on the edge, not in the middle.
Here: Barrely and Morrison (50×50×45), Emie L (50×50×50), Mallow (50×50×42), MARSHMALLOW (50×55), Richie (59×59×48), MIND-R (60 cm).
A practical tip: two 50 cm poufs give two proper seats and take up less space than one armchair. For a small living room this is often smarter — and you can move them with one hand, which you can't do with an armchair.
Instead of a coffee table: from 75 cm
Here the height is deliberately lower than for seats, and that's the whole logic: to reach a cup from the sofa, the surface has to be lower than the seat.
Dour — 80×80 cm with a height of just 35 cm. Hordons — 100×100×40. That's coffee-table level, not chair level, and it's done on purpose.
Larger ones: Amster+ and Maroon (100×100×50), Kamal (102×102×50), Amster (75×75×50).
Two conditions people regret later. A soft surface doesn't hold crockery — a cup goes on a tray. And a 100 cm pouf in front of a sofa needs another 40 cm of clearance to the seat, which means 140 cm from the sofa in total.

A bench: 75–120 cm long
An elongated format for two or three people, placed along something.
SCOTT — 120×45×40 cm, the longest: for the foot of a 140–160 cm bed or a hallway. DoubleCubic — 83×45×45, SOHO — 82×60×45, NORDIK — 75×45×45, ADDA — 82×62×40.
For the foot of a bed the rule is simple: the bench should be close to the width of the bed or a little less. DoubleCubic suits a single bed, SCOTT a double.
About storage — honestly
The idea of a "pouf with a chest" is popular, and it's important not to mislead here: a built-in drawer comes on exactly one model — MAROON (100×100×50 cm). All the other 34 poufs are solid.
So if storage is your main goal rather than a nice bonus, it's MAROON. Don't buy another pouf counting on there "surely being something inside".

Shape: when it really matters
Round — no sharp corners (important in a kids' room and in a walkway), and no need to line it up: it looks right in any position. This is our largest group — 15 models. See round poufs.
Cylinder — straight sides instead of sloping ones, a crisper silhouette, a smaller footprint at the same height. Six models: cylinders.
Square — sits flush against the sofa without leaving empty corners, and a flat top is better for a tray. Seven models: square.
Rectangular — benches for the foot of the bed and the hallway. Five models: rectangular.
Standing apart is MIND-STONE — 145×120×45 cm in the shape of a stone. It's no longer an addition to the furniture but an object in its own right that needs space and emptiness around it.

Legs change the look more than you'd think
Hidden plastic (MARSHMALLOW, MIND-R, MIND-S, SIMPLE, CANDY+, Candy Round, Emie S) — the pouf sits as one solid volume, softer and cosier.
Metal legs (ADDA, SOHO, Kamal S, Only) — the pouf is raised and you can see the floor underneath. It looks lighter, closer to a bench, and it's easier to clean under.
Wood — NORDIK on ash legs, the warm option for Scandinavian interiors.
Frequently asked questions
What height should a footrest be?
Level with your sofa seat or 3–5 cm lower. Measure the seat — it's the only number you need here.
Is there a pouf with storage?
One — MAROON, 100 cm in diameter, with a built-in drawer. The other models are solid.
Will a pouf take an adult's weight?
Yes, the framed models are designed for it. But for proper seating take 50 cm or more: on a smaller one you sit on the edge.
Can I put a cup on a pouf?
Only on a tray. A soft surface doesn't hold crockery — the first careless movement will knock it over.
Can I order a pouf in my sofa's fabric?
Yes, if we made the sofa — the collection is kept in the order. If not, send a sample or a photo and our manager will find the closest match.
In short
- For your feet — 35–45 cm, level with the sofa seat or lower
- For sitting — from 50 cm; two such poufs are a better deal than one armchair
- Instead of a coffee table — from 75 cm, and the height there is deliberately lower (35–40 cm)
- A bench for the foot of the bed — close to the width of the bed
- Only MAROON has a storage drawer
