A square pouf works better where it is placed against something — a sofa, a wall, in a row. It does not leave “dead” gaps the way a round one does.
When a square beats a circle
Right up against furniture. A round pouf next to a straight sofa leaves empty corners on both sides. A square one sits flush — and visually continues the line of the sofa rather than arguing with it.
In a row. Two or three square poufs in a line read as a bench. Round ones in a row look like scattered objects.
As a surface. A tray, books or a remote are easier to put on a flat square than on a circle: a square has more usable area for the same overall size.
What is in the selection
Cubic — 45 × 45 × 45 cm. A true cube, a versatile extra seat.
SIMPLE — 40 × 40 × 40 cm. The most compact, works well in a child’s room and as a footrest pouf.
Hordons — 100 × 100 × 40 cm. Large and deliberately low: a height of 40 cm is coffee table level, not chair level. It is designed for a tray to sit on in front of the sofa, not for sitting upright on it.
Kamal — 102 × 102 × 50 cm. The largest square one in the range, with a higher seat.
ADDA (82 × 62 × 40) and Only — benches on metal legs: not poufs in the classic sense but benches for the hallway or the foot of the bed.
Brosko — a cube-shaped pouf with deep buttoning, on a concealed base.
How much space you need
A 100 × 100 cm pouf in front of the sofa needs at least a 40 cm gap to the seat — otherwise there is nowhere to put your legs. Together that is 140 cm from the sofa.
A soft surface is not a table. Put a cup on a tray: the first movement will tip it off the fabric.
Frequently asked questions
- Why are large square poufs lower than small ones?
- Because they work as a table, not a seat. To reach a cup from the sofa, the surface must be lower than the seat — hence 40 cm for Hordons.
- Can I put a cup on a pouf?
- Only on a tray. A soft surface does not hold crockery — the first careless movement will tip it over.
- How does a bench differ from a pouf?
- A bench is narrower and longer, on visible legs, designed for two or three people. ADDA and Only are exactly that: a seat for the hallway or the foot of the bed.
- Do you make poufs in non-standard sizes?
- Yes. We change the dimensions to order — it is a normal order, not a separate service.
