A cylinder is round in plan but has vertical sides — and it is the sides that give it a different character from a low round pouf.
How a cylinder differs from a round pouf
Straight sides instead of sloping ones. A round pouf often has a rounded top and visually “spreads out”. A cylinder keeps a clean silhouette — it is an object with geometry, not a soft cushion on the floor.
It takes up less floor space at the same seat height. The sides are vertical, so the pouf does not widen towards the bottom. In a cramped room this is noticeable.
It looks neater in pairs. Two cylinders side by side read as a pair; two sloping poufs — as two random objects.
Sizes in this selection
Six models in the 35–50 cm range: Candy and Crystal — 35 cm, Bosco — 40 cm, Deshi — 45 cm, Barrely and Morrison — 50 cm.
35–45 cm — a footrest by an armchair, a pouf in the bedroom for a dressing table, a seat in a child’s room that is easy to move.
50 cm — the threshold beyond which you can sit on a pouf for half an evening without thinking about it. Barrely and Morrison are exactly that.
A height of 40–50 cm matches the height of an ordinary chair, so they are comfortable to sit on at a table too.
Frequently asked questions
- Cylinder or round pouf — which to choose?
- A cylinder keeps a cleaner silhouette and takes up less floor space at the same height. A round one is softer visually and better at softening the straight lines of a room.
- Which of them can you sit on?
- From 50 cm — Barrely and Morrison. The smaller ones (35–45 cm) are designed primarily for your feet.
- Do they have storage space?
- No, all six models are solid. Only the round MAROON has a drawer.
- Can I order a non-standard height?
- Yes, the technologist calculates the dimensions. For a footrest pouf, the height is usually matched to a specific sofa.
