A width from 180 cm means a stand for a screen of 65 inches and more. The TV does not overhang the edges, and there is free top surface left on either side.
For which screen size
A 16:9 TV is roughly 2.2 times wider than every 10 inches of diagonal. Hence simple guidelines:
- 65″ — body width about 144 cm, comfortable stand 180 cm
- 75″ — about 166 cm, comfortable stand 200 cm
- 85″ — about 188 cm, comfortable stand 220 cm
The minimum is when the TV simply does not overhang. Comfort is when 15–20 cm is left on each side. Visually the difference is big: in the first case the stand looks like a pedestal, in the second — like furniture.
The larger the screen, the lower the stand should be
The centre of the screen should be roughly at the eye level of a seated person — 100–110 cm from the floor.
A large TV “gains” height by itself, so for 75–85 inches low models make sense. The height in this selection ranges from 40 to 55 cm.
Depth matters more than it seems. TVs with a central stand have a base 25–30 cm deep — on a 30 cm stand it will only just fit. For large screens, take from 38 cm.

- What width do I need for 65 inches?
- The body of such a TV is about 144 cm. Minimum — 150 cm, comfortable — 180 cm, so that 15–20 cm is left on each side.
- Why is a tall stand worse for a large TV?
- The centre of the screen should be at eye level — 100–110 cm from the floor. A large TV is tall in itself, so on a tall stand you would have to watch with your head tilted back.
- Is a depth of 38 cm enough?
- Yes, it is a universal size: it suits TVs on two feet and with a central stand, and leaves room for a soundbar in front of the screen.
- Can I order a non-standard width?
- Yes, to fit the wall or recess. The technologist calculates the width, depth and height for a specific drawing.
